The Creative Industries Research Institute and the Communication, Cultural and Media Studies Research Unit will be hosting a research seminar and book launch with Emeritus Prof. Stephen Lacey and Dr Derek Paget (Visiting Fellow, University of Reading) to celebrate this new edited collection, The War on Terror: Post 9/11 Television Drama, Docu-Drama and Documentary. This book is published as part of the University of Wales Press series, Contemporary Landmark Television edited by Emeritus Professors Steve Blandford, Stephen Lacey and Dr Ruth McElroy.

Stephen and Derek will discuss the selection of the material for the book and the issues that arose along the way in relation to how to conceptualise the field. As the author of key works on docu-drama including True Stories? Documentary Drama on Radio, Screen and Stage (Manchester University Press, 1990) and No Other Way To tell It (Manchester University Press, 1998), Derek will also talk about docudrama in the wake of the war on terror.
