A webinar with the Screen Census 2020 advisory board and researchers

What is this session?

We would like to invite you to participate in a session with the ‘Skills in Innovation’ Advisory Board to learn more about the Screen Industry Census 2020 and hear more about the value of participating and being counted.

Pauline Burt Chief Executive of Ffilm Cymru Wales, Tom Ware Director of Production and Performance at USW, and Allison Dowzell Managing Director, Screen Alliance Wales will be joined by Research Fellow at University of South Wales, Faye Hannah.

This session will offer those who participate:

  • An insight into the type of research that will be delivered for skills, training, and workforce development in CCR
  • Share how different elements of the research will work and what we plan to achieve between now and Autumn 2020
  • How having this data and evidence will effectively support the Screen sector and training providers in the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR)
  • An opportunity for industry to ask questions relating to Screen Census 2020 to The Advisory board and lead researcher.

What is Screen Industry Census 2020?

The Screen Census 2020 is a Clwstwr research project lead by the University of South Wales and funded by Arts and Humanities Research Council. This is the first full census of screen industries production and training provision in the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR).

Conducted by Faye Hannah at University of South Wales, this research is focused upon film, high-end TV, television, games, animation, VFX and post-production and will produce detailed data on industry demographics and skills with a focus on growth and innovation.

Where can I find Screen Census 2020?

Both Census 2020 surveys are live now, aimed at industry and training providers and will be open until 1 July.

  • The first is aimed at screen industries post-16 training provision HERE.
  • The second is geared to the production sector to map organisations and freelance workers HERE.
